Privacy Policy

Grass Touch Golf is a free, fan-made online minigolf game. Last updated: 2026-06-11.

1. Who we are

Grass Touch Golf (“we”, “the game”) is an independent, non-commercial project. You can reach us any time at airosteradmin@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

You can play as a Guest (anonymous, nothing is saved to our leaderboard) or sign in with Google. When you sign in with Google we store, in Google Firebase/Firestore:

• Account identifier — your Google account’s unique ID (used to log you in and to own your data).
• Username — the public nickname you choose. This is the only name other players ever see.
• Profile photo — optional, taken from your Google profile, shown next to your username.
• Gameplay stats — ELO rating, wins/losses/ties, holes won, holes played, strokes, and any badges on your profile.
• Presence — whether you are currently online, so others can challenge you.
• Chat messages — what you post in the public hub chat or in the in-match chat during an online game.
• Course votes — your thumbs-up/down on individual holes.

Your real Google display name and email address are never shown to other players, and the game does not use them beyond Google sign-in itself.

3. How we use it

Only to run the game: signing you in, matchmaking, leaderboards, profiles, presence, and chat. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising or profiling.

4. Who processes it

Data is stored and processed by Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Hosting) as our service provider. Google’s handling of that data is governed by the Firebase Privacy and Security terms. Sign-in is handled by Google; we only receive the basic profile fields listed above.

5. Cookies & local storage

We use your browser’s local storage only to keep you signed in, to let you resume a game in progress, and to remember small interface preferences (such as muting the sound). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

6. Retention

Account and stats data is kept while your account exists. Chat messages (hub and in-match) fade from view over time and are automatically deleted from the database shortly afterward. Guest data is discarded when you leave.

7. Your choices & deletion

You can change your username at any time in the game. To delete your account and all associated data, email airosteradmin@gmail.com from the Google account in question and we will remove it.

8. Children

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) to sign in. We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age.

9. Security

Connections are served over HTTPS and access is restricted by Firebase security rules so that you can only write your own account data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and the game is provided “as is.”

10. Changes

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above will change. Continued play after an update means you accept the revised policy.
